The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) published a report in August 2012. The title is, An Update to the Budget and Economic Outlook: Fiscal Years 2012 to 2022. While their many projections are beyond the scope of this update, under current law, many policy changes are scheduled to occur in January 2013. It is my opinion the following four carry the most influence to the U.S. economy:
Furthermore, it is my opinion that political posturing is the main factor making the U.S. economic situation so contentious. Historically, politicians debate the issues, yet table them, until after the election. Then legislators have only a few weeks to reach agreement. Significant action depends in part on post-election political dynamics. Stay tuned.
